SIR Corp. appoints new Senior Vice President Operations

BURLINGTON, ON, Jan. 20 /CNW/ - SIR Corp. ("SIR") and SIR Royalty Income
Fund (TSX: SRV.UN) ("the Fund") today announced that Mike Hackney, Vice
President Canadian Operations of Jack Astor's(R) Bar and Grill, has been
promoted to Senior Vice President Operations. In his new role, Mr. Hackney
will be responsible for the overall operations of all of SIR Corp.'s
restaurants. Mr. Hackney will continue to report directly to Corey Dalton,
Chief Operating Officer of SIR.
"Mike has extensive experience in managing full service restaurant
concepts and has demonstrated his ability to build strong management teams and
drive profitable sales growth," said Peter Fowler, President & CEO of SIR. "As
a member of SIR's senior management team, Mike will play an important role in
supporting ongoing initiatives to drive same store sales growth and expand our
concept brands."
Mr. Hackney has been with SIR since April 2004 and has more than 20 years
of experience in the restaurant industry. Prior to joining SIR, Mr. Hackney
held positions as: President of John Harvard's Brew House Pubs in Boston,
Massachusetts; owner operator of three casual dining restaurants in
Cincinnati, Ohio; Vice President, Operations, for Grisanti's Italian
restaurants, a multi-location restaurant brand located in Louisville,
Kentucky; and, District Operator, El Torito Restaurants, where he managed
locations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Boston.
