Cavaiola to its board of directors subject to\napplicable regulatory and exchange approvals.\n\n\nDr. Cavaiola is President of Cavaiola & Associates, LLC, a consulting and\nadvisory services company focusing on the defense, aerospace, and security\nsectors.\n\n\nPrior to starting his own company, Dr. Cavaiola held senior positions in\nboth industry and government in the United States. He was Chairman and Chief\nExecutive Officer of Thales North America, Inc., the US operations of the\nglobal professional electronics and security company Thales. Before joining\nThales he was the founding President of the Northrop Grumman Ship Systems Full\nService Center, and also served as Vice President for Strategic and Business\nDevelopment for Northrop Grumman's shipbuilding sector, including service\nunder Litton Industries ownership. Prior to joining Litton, Dr. Cavaiola held\nsenior positions in business and technology development and strategic planning\nwith both Loral Corporation and Lockheed Martin.\n\n\nBefore moving to the private sector in 1995, Dr. Cavaiola held senior\ngovernment positions with the United States Congress and Department of\nDefense. He served as Principal Analyst in the Congressional Budget Office; as\na Professional Staff Member and Deputy Staff Director for the Committee on\nArmed Services of the United States House of Representatives; as Deputy\nUndersecretary of Defense for Acquisition Operations; and as Special Assistant\nto the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense.\n\n\nDr. Cavaiola spent ten years on active duty with the United States Navy,\nserving aboard surface combatant ships and as an Assistant Professor at the\nNaval Postgraduate School. He retired in 1995 as a Captain in the United\nStates Naval Reserve. He is a member of the Chief of Naval Operations\nExecutive Panel and Chaired the Naval Postgraduate School Board of Advisors.\nHis awards include the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public\nService and the Legion of Merit.\n\n\nDr. Cavaiola graduated with distin...
