[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n/NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN\nTHE UNITED STATES/\n\n\nTORONTO, Nov. 24 /CNW/ - Amazon Mining Holding Plc (TSX-V symbol: "AMZ")\n("Amazon" or the "Company") is pleased to announce it has staked a large\nmineral occurrence of a potash bearing rock known as verdete slate\n("Verdete"), which is believed to be uniquely suited to Brazil's fertilizer\nneeds. The Cerrado Verde project ("Cerrado Verde") consists of 84 claims\ncovering 165,069 hectares and is located on the western part of Minas Gerais\nstate, in the heart of the country's agricultural region.\n\n\nThe Cerrado Verde development focus is to achieve the economic recovery\nof potash from sedimentary deposits of the Serra da Saudade Formation. The\nmain potassium-bearing minerals of Verdete are glauconite (a hydrated\npotassium-iron silicate) and sericite (a monoclinic, basic potassium\naluminosilicate of the mica group), with K(2)O contents ranging from 5% to\n14%.\n\n\nVALE (formerly CVRD) controls a significant block of exploration licenses\nadjacent to Cerrado Verde. VALE's properties were staked shortly after\nAmazon's claims. The accompanying map shows each company's titles holdings;\nAmazon's claims are labelled FVS for the Brazilian operating subsidiary.\nAmazon controls the majority of the Verdete outcrop. (see\nhttp://files.newswire.ca/760/cerrado_verde.pdf)\n\n\nThermo-Potash and Agricultural History\n\n\nAmazon is investigating the viability of applying a pyrometallurgical\ntreatment process to deliver a semi-soluble thermopotash product or directly\ncombining the Verdete with a phosphate rock to create thermophosphate potash.\nPyrometallurgical treatment is commonly used in the production of high quality\nphosphate. Amazon has been able to access 25 years of agronomical and\nmetallurgical studies from Brazilian Universities and Technological Centers\nthat suggest thermopotash is the ideal fertilizer product for Brazil's\nnutrient poor, well drained acidic soils. Thermophosphate is a premium product\nin Brazil and one that has been successfully marketed locally for over 40\nyears. It is recognized for its long retention time in soils, which is\nimportant in an environment where heavy tropical rains often wash away, or\nsignificantly dilute, highly soluble product n...
