("Vecima") (TSX:VCM), the\nLast Mile Solution(R) for broadband wired and wireless networks, today\nannounced the launch of its Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certified\n3.65 GHz VistaMAX base and subscriber stations, the latest addition to\nVecima's VistaMAX family of WiMAX compliant products. Based on the IEEE\n802.16-2004 standard, the FCC certified 3.65 GHz VistaMAX products, including\nboth base and subscriber stations, offers US operators the opportunity to reap\nthe benefits of WiMAX while operating in a lightly licensed piece of spectrum.\n\n\n"Building on the success of our 900 MHz WaveRider and wireless DOCSIS\nsolutions, we are focused on providing US customers with a cost effective and\nproven solution that will enable them to strengthen their business model and\ngenerate more revenue from their networks," said Robert Forget, Director of\nWireless Product Management at Vecima. "After receiving FCC certification for\nour 3.65 GHz VistaMax equipment we are now ready to offer products that\naddress the specific needs of the important US market."\n\n\nVecima believes that every community deserves to benefit from broadband\naccess and with Vecima's VistaMAX products, bringing broadband to underserved\nrural areas has never been easier. The 3.65 GHz VistaMAX is based upon the\nsame platform as Vecima's 3.5 GHz VistaMAX which has been successfully\ndeployed in 25 different countries. In order to allow US operators to test\nVecima's equipment in their own environment, and to address their different\nneeds and budget constraints, Vecima has designed two cost-effective 3.65 GHz\nWiMAX starter kits. For a limited time Vecima is offering qualified US\nWireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) the opportunity to evaluate the\nequipment for a 30-day period.\n\n\n"With the low cost of ownership, our new 3.65 GHz VistaMAX should allow\nWISPs all over the United States to overcome the challenges they are facing\nwith the overly cluttered 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz unlicensed bands and also address\nthe heightened budgetary constraints that they are facing in the current\neconomic climate," said Sumit Kumar, Vecima's VP of Corporate Strategy.\n\n\nAbout VistaMAX\n\n\nThe VistaMAX product family is based on IEEE 802.16-2004 standard and is\n...
