(formerly Southern Cross Resources Inc.) wishes to inform\nstakeholders of a temporary shutdown of the primary crusher which occurred on\nthe 28th of December 2005 at its Bonanza South gold operation near Klerksdorp,\nSouth Africa. Full gold production is expected to resume around January 17th.\nThe primary crusher is a surface facility used to crush ore from the Bonanza\nmine in readiness for processing in the gold plant.\nThe breakdown resulted from a bearing failure in the crusher, which could\nnot have been foreseen, and a replacement bearing will be installed with gold\nproduction to resume around 17th January 2006.\n\nSaid sxr Uranium One CEO and President Neal Froneman:\n\n\"Mining operations are continuing at Bonanza South, which is a pilot\nproject for our Dominion Reefs uranium mine. The fault was detected quickly\nand safely by mine staff and represents a hiccup in ramping up to targeted\nproduction levels. Ore is being stockpiled in readiness for the resumption of\ncrushing and, as the gold plant has spare processing capacity, any lost\nproduction can be recovered quickly with no longer-term impacts. The repair\ncost is not material and will be in the order of C$36,000.\"\n\nCautionary note concerning forward-looking statements: Statements in this\nrelease that are not historical facts are \"forward-looking statements\"\ninvolving known and unknown risk and uncertainties which are beyond the\nability of the Corporation to control or predict and which could cause actual\nevents or results to differ materially from those anticipated in such forward-\nlooking statements.\n\nTo receive the Corporation's news releases by email, contact Carol Smith,\nInvestor Relations at carol(at)aflease.com or Don Falconer, Marketing and\nInvestor Relations, at dfalconer(at)southerncrossres.com.
