Valmie’s Vertitek Expands Drone Racing Team

Valmie Resources Inc. (OTCBB: VMRI) announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, Vertitek, has expanded its drone racing team in order to compete on a broader scale. The team has added a third racing pilot and established an FPV (First Person View) two-member freestyle crew.

A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Vertitek’s new racing pilot is a member of the MultiGP Racing League for FPV radio-controlled aircraft. He recently competed in the 2016 MultiGP National Championship held at the Academy of Model Aeronautics headquarters in Muncie, Indiana, and is ranked among the top 50 fastest pilots in the country.

“On behalf of Valmie and Vertitek, we extend a warm welcome to our three new highly skilled pilots,” said Gerald B. Hammack, President and CEO of Valmie. “FPV drone racing and freestyle are two of the fastest growing sports in the world. Pilots who have been competing since the establishment of these sports will become legends. Valmie is enthusiastic about being associated with these trailblazers.”

Vertitek’s recently established division, Vertitek Racing, specializes in fabricating and selling racing frames for the competitive drone racing industry. Vertitek Racing’s existing product, Model LDE 180, is extremely light and durable and has proven to be popular among drone racers. Additional products are in the works and will soon be announced.

As a result of that successful venture, Vertitek Racing launched its team of sponsored pilots that promote the company brand on YouTube and attend racing events as the company’s branded team. One of the Vertitek team members participated in the U.S. Drone Nationals last month, the first-ever such event to be nationally televised live on ESPN.

“Many drone racing events have freestyle competitions,” said Sean Foster, President of Vertitek. “Vertitek’s new freestyle component will allow the team to compete on a broader level and establish Vertitek Racing as a serious player in this exciting new field.”

Different from drone racing that requires the contenders to get to the finish line the fastest, freestyle competition involves flips, tricks, and aesthetics. Many freestyle pilots think of it as art or a form of expression and typically come from a musical, photography or extreme sports background.

FPV or First Person View means pilots wear special goggles that let them see exactly what the drone “sees.” A camera is placed on top of the drone that transmits a signal to the pilot’s goggles, giving them a unique “flight-like” vantage point.
