Valmie Resources Inc. (VMRI) announces its joint venture partner – AeroLift eXpress, LLC – has been conducting a series of seminars to increase awareness about the latest technology available in unmanned commercial systems and to present its service capabilities.
The seminars were scheduled following interest generated by participation as a speaker at a hurricane and disaster awareness conference last August at the University of Houston. AeroLift scheduled the series of seminars in Houston and other cities in Texas to promote awareness about the innovative capabilities of commercial unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in a variety of sectors.
The first seminar was held in the Texas Rio Grande Valley, where James Stafford, AeroLift eXpress CEO and Founder, addressed participants about the ability of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) to detect leaks in buried pipelines, perform parks and wildlife surveys and support detection of illicit operations at the US/Mexico border. A representative from the FBI, sheriffs representing seven counties and other municipal officials attended the event.
The second seminar was held last month in Houston for oil and gas industry professionals.
“During this event, AeroLift was able to bring many of its oil and gas contacts up to date on the latest UAV technology and focused on the application of this technology to their industry,” said Stafford. “The ability to deploy a UAV instead of a helicopter or manned airplane is of high interest to this community and we have only begun to discover the possibilities.”
As a result of the seminar in Houston, a major oil and gas company invited AeroLift to conduct a private seminar on their campus for its pipeline operation directors and project managers from across the U.S.
The fourth seminar in the series will be held in San Antonio where AeroLift will address legislators and other government officials.
AeroLift’s flight systems have logged in excess of 100,000 hours covering thousands of miles during countless missions from inspections to surveillance. AeroLift’s UAV’s have the ability to carry payloads up to 60 pounds and operate at 70 knots cruise speed while travelling distances of 250 miles or more.
