[{"type":"text","content":"\n Niger Uranium Limited\n17 April 2008\n\n\nFor immediate release\n\n\n 17 April 2008\n\n\n Niger Uranium Limited\n\n\n ('Niger Uranium' or 'the Company')\n\n\n Drilling Update\n\n\n Further positive results from the In Gall license area, Niger\n\nNiger Uranium, the uranium focused exploration and investment company with\ninterests in Niger and Namibia, is pleased to announce its initial downhole\nradiometric logging results for the drilling programme on the Company's 100%\nowned In Gall license in Niger.\n\n\nHighlights\n\n\n •Drilling at Niger Uranium's In Gall license, at target 17 has delineated\n a near surface uranium-mineralized layer with dimensions of 5,000 metres by\n 900 metres and open to the west.\n\n\n •Radiometric probe data shows the layer has an average thickness of 1.2\n metres and a grade of 122 ppm eU3O8 based upon data from 32 boreholes\n drilled on a 250 by 400 metres grid.\n\n\n •The probe data shows that grade and thickness is very consistent; the 32\n intersections ranged from 63 ppm eU3O8 over 0.7 metres to 177 ppm eU3O8 over\n 1.8 metres. Results of XRF analysis on samples collected from the same\n boreholes indicate higher grades, up to 238 ppm U3O8 over 2.0 metres.\n\n\n •The layer is gently dipping and exposed at surface and historical data\n suggests this zone extends over 15 kilometers to the west of the area\n drilled to date, highlighting the potential for a considerable open-pittable\n resource.\n\n\n •At other target areas within the Company's In Gall and Irhazer Licenses,\n a survey comprising 1,500 radon detectors will be completed by Stratamodel\n of the USA. Results from this survey are expected to delineate 'concealed'\n uranium deposits that may be present along major structures. In the interim,\n step-out drilling will commence at target 10 where an earlier lone\n scout-drilling borehole highlighted an intersection of 9.2 metres grading\n 105 ppm eU3O8.\n\n\nIan Stalker, Deputy Chairman, said:\n\n\n'The identification of such a large mineralized area at this early stage in our\ndrill programme is an exciting result. Our objective is the identification of an\neconomically viable uranium resource in Niger and we look forward to informing\nshareholders regarding the ongoing work programme as soon as results are made\navailable.'\n\n\nA 10,000 metre drilling programme commenced i...
