[{"type":"text","content":"\n Sarantel Group PLC\n23 August 2007\n\nSARANTEL GROUP PLC\n\nSarantel secures two design wins in the GPS Tracker market\n\nSarantel (AIM: SLG), the leading manufacturer of revolutionary filtering\nantennas for mobile and wireless devices, has secured two design wins in the\npersonal GPS tracker market for its GeoHelix antenna technology.\n\nA personal tracker combines the standard features of a mobile phone with\nstate-of-the-art GPS technology, targeting the needs of the emerging personal\nsafety and asset monitoring markets. In addition to standard mobile phone\nfunctionality (voice call, SMS, etc.) a personal tracker supports a variety of\nGPS navigation and tracking modes. It comes in a very compact slim-line and\nlightweight package and can be used for many applications including work force\nmanagement, lone worker protection, VIP monitoring, asset tracking, fleet\nmanagement and personal navigation systems.\n\nSarantel's GeoHelix antenna has been designed in two trackers:\n\n • The Falcom Mambo II Mobile phone and Tracker, and\n • The Teltonika GH1200 GPS tracker\n\nThe GeoHelix antenna was selected for its small size, omni-directionality and\nhigh performance when hand-held. Unlike other antennas, the GeoHelix does not\ndetune when hand loaded and because the antenna has the broadest beam-width\npossible, satellites are detected at all angles of the horizon no matter the\norientation of the device. The customers were also pleased with its ease of\nintegration in the device, enabling them to save engineering time and resources,\nand accelerating their time-to-market.\n\nDavid Wither, CEO of Sarantel says:\n\n'We are delighted that our GeoHelix antenna has been selected for these two\ncombined mobile phone and GPS tracker devices.
