[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nCALGARY, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - Jasper Mining Corporation (the \"Company\") has\ncompleted its preliminary diamond drill program on its 100% owned Irony\nproperty, located approximately 94 km northwest of Revelstoke, BC and\nsouthwest of Mica Dam. The property consists of sixteen mineral tenures,\ncomprising a total of approximately 6,028 ha (14,895 acres), located at the\nheadwaters of Oliver and Ruddock Creeks.\nThe Irony property is contiguous with, and immediately south of Selkirk\nMetals Corp.'s (\"Selkirk\") Ruddock Creek property, on which active exploration\nprograms have been completed over the past two years. The results of these\nprograms are summarized in a number of Press Releases and a Technical Report\nfiled for Selkirk's Ruddock Creek property (available through SEDAR at\nhttp://www.sedar.com). Briefly, previous work by Cominco and Falconbridge\nresulted in identification of an extensive mineralized zone. Diamond drilling\nby Selkirk over the past two years has confirmed mineralization associated\nwith the \"E Zone\" and the \"E Zone Extension\", localized within the \"Ruddock\nCreek Massive Sulphide Horizon\" (RCMSH).\nTo provide an initial evaluation of the property, the Company completed\nan Aeroquest airborne electromagnetic and magnetic survey of the entire Irony\nproperty earlier this year (see Press Release dated May 31, 2006). The final\ndata confirms the apparent geophysical signature believed to correlate to the\nwestern extension of the RCMSH (as identified from Aeroquest geophysical data\nreleased by Selkirk) extending west into the Oliver Creek valley.\nThe final geophysical report and maps were not received by the Company\nuntil late in the diamond drill program and did not, therefore, have a\nmeaningful influence on the program. The drill program was concluded as all\nholes proposed on the basis of the preliminary data were completed and are\ninterpreted to have adequately tested the intended magnetic anomalies. Further\ndrill testing has been postponed to 2007 due to deterioration of the weather,\nparticularly with respect to the high elevation holes required on the\nproperty, and to allow for detailed evaluation of the geophysical data.\nThe first two pads drilled, comprising a total of four holes, were\npositioned to test a prominent pair of magnetic anomalies located immediately\nsouth of th...
