[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 2319X Tristel PLC 23 June 2008 \n \n \n\n\nTRISTEL plc\n\nSupply and distribution agreement with Bio-Cide International, Inc., United States, and representation in the Biocidal Products Directive\n\nTristel plc ('Tristel' or the 'Group'), the AIM listed provider of infection and contamination control products, announces that it has entered into a new 20 year supply agreement with Bio-Cide International, Inc. ('BCI'), Oklahoma, United States. Additionally, Tristel has now been appointed as the distributor for BCI's products throughout the European Union. Tristel had previously been BCI's distributor only in the United Kingdom.\n\nBCI is a manufacturer of a proprietary sodium chlorite solution, which is a key component in Tristel's chlorine dioxide products. BCI has been supplying its sodium chlorite chemistry to Tristel's legionella control and food contamination control subsidiary, Tristel Technologies, for over ten years. The enlarged relationship with BCI signals Tristel's intention to expand its legionella, food and horticulture contamination control business throughout Europe. \n\nBCI is one of three industry partners that form the registration group for sodium chlorite/chlorine dioxide under the European Biocidal Products Directive ('BPD'), which is set to fashion the shape of the biocides industry in Europe.
