[{"type":"text","content":"\n Tristel PLC\n29 August 2006\n\nFor release\n29 August 2006\n\n Tristel Plc\n\n Technology Acquisition\n Agreement with IVC Limited, New Zealand\n\n\nTristel plc ('Tristel'), the chlorine dioxide specialist that supplies infection\nand contamination control products to healthcare and institutional\nestablishments and the pharmaceutical and food processing industries, announces\nthat it has entered into a technology acquisition agreement with IVC Limited, \n('IVC'). IVC is Tristel's New Zealand distributor and its principal shareholder\nis Mark Fraundorfer, an internationally renowned Urologist.\n\nUnder the terms of the agreement IVC transfers to Tristel the design and patent\nrights to two inventions which it has created to work specifically with\nTristel's chlorine dioxide chemistry. The inventions are a sterilizing tray\nsystem which enables single use decontamination of endoscopic equipment and a\nhygiene work station which enables Tristel's highly effective sporicidal\nchemistry to be easily applied to floors and walls in high risk wards and\ndepartments of hospitals.\n\nIVC has funded the design and development process to date and transfers the\nintellectual property created in return for unspecified future royalties.\n\nCommenting upon the agreement, Paul Swinney, Chief Executive of Tristel, said:\n\n'Outside of the most advanced healthcare markets, where endoscopes are mainly\nprocessed in sophisticated and costly automated machines, the majority of\nendoscopes are disinfected in basic trays and sinks.
