The Guigues kimberlite pipe, located 10 kilometers from Notre-Dame-du-Nord in southwestern Quebec, has substantial size of 5 to 7 hectares, excellent local infrastructure, and most importantly highly encouraging diamond indicator mineral chemistry which has never been tested by modern microdiamond methodsFor more information, please view the InvestmentPitch Media \"video\" which provides additional information on the company and this news. De Beers, working at the time under the name Monopros, drilled two holes, and held the claims until 1989, when they expired. As Guigues lacked G10 garnet chemistry it was not further pursued by De Beers. In 1987 De Beers discovered the Victor Kimberlite, which like Guigues, also lacked G10 garnets and was not prioritized by De Beers, which moved its Canadian focus to the North West Territories after Dr. Charles Fipke's famous discovery of diamonds near Lac de Gras in 1992. In the late 1990's, De Beers refocused on Victor after better recognizing the importance of eclogite as a potential mantle source for diamonds and utilizing more reliable microdiamond testing methods convinced De Beers they had a significant diamond mine at Victor. By this time, De Beers had lost the Guigues claims, which were controlled by Tres-Or Resources. The dominance of lherzolite garnets found as inclusions in Victor diamonds, along with a lesser proportion of eclogite garnet inclusions, is unique among diamond mines around the world, and as Thomas Stachel, the University ...
