[{"type":"text","content":"\n Transense Technologies PLC\n08 August 2007\n\n\n Transense Technologies plc ('Transense')\n\n Patent Administration Agreement with Schott AG\n\n\nTransense and Schott AG ('Schott'), of Mainz, Germany, have signed a Patent\nAdministration Agreement concerning jointly developed intellectual property for\nthe packaging of Transense's patented Surface Acoustic Wave ('SAW') torque\nsensors. Under the terms of the agreement, Schott has exclusive rights to\nmanufacture the packages that are the subject of the invention and Transense\nwill receive a royalty on every package sold. The filed patent should lead to\nimprovements in the performance of torque sensors, and also to facilitate the\nvolume production of the packaged sensors. Schott are already approved suppliers\nto another of Transense's licensees, Honeywell, and Honeywell has made public\nits intention to start volume production of SAW torque sensors in 2008.\n\n\n\nJim Perry, Transense's C.E.O. said: 'Schott, a world leader in electronic\ncomponent packaging and part of the Carl-Zeiss Foundation, is a € 2.23 billion\nturnover business with operations around the world and 16,800 employees.
