("Sirit") (TSX: SI), a leading\nprovider of radio frequency identification ("RFID") technology, announced\ntoday that Prova Group, Inc. ("Prova") has selected Sirit's Plug-n-Play SDIO\nreader as the RFID platform for their sports memorabilia authentication\napplication. The portable reader solution will be used exclusively at the\nFootball Spectacular Show, a large sports collectibles exhibition starting\ntoday at the Dallas Convention Center.\n\n\nProva's authentication application is designed to prevent counterfeiting\nof all types of collectibles, utilizing the SDIO Plug-n-Play reader operating\nat 13.56 MHz and ISO 15693 RFID tags. Each tag is assigned a unique identity\nassociated with the signed collectible which is then registered in Prova's\nsecure database creating an undisputable authentication record for present and\nfuture owners.\n\n\n"The Sirit SDIO reader was selected because of its plug-and-play\ncompatibility with HP's iPAQ pocket PC, in addition to the reader's durability\nand reliability," stated Charles Humphreyson, CEO of Prova Group, Inc.\n"Ultimately, Sirit's high level of commitment to service and support was\ncritical in our decision process."\n\n\n"We are excited about Prova selecting our reader for this application,"\nstated Tony Sabetti, vice president, RF Solutions for Sirit Inc. "This is the\ntype of implementation that hits the sweet spot for our Plug-n-Play products.\nThese cost-effective readers can turn everyday tools such as smartphones,\nPDAs, handheld computers and laptop PCs into mobile RFID devices. Couple that\nwith the iPAQ's wireless communications capability and you have a very useful,\nreal-time adaptation of RFID technology."\n\n\nThis will be the first time Prova will use the "mobile authentication"\nsystem during autograph sessions at this week's Football Spectacular Show\nfeaturing NFL icons including Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Joe\nMontana, Jerry Rice, Gayle Sayers, Earl Campbell, Thurman Thomas and many\nothers. The Prova system records the exact time of the signature, the\ncelebrity's secure identification code and where the signature occurred.\n\n\n&...
