Sirit Launches INfinity 210 High Performance, Multi-Protocol UHF Module

Full RFID reader module supports multiple UHF EPCglobal(TM) RFID tag
protocols enabling 'agile' automatic data collection devices

ATLANTA, Sept. 14 /CNW/ - Sirit Inc. (TSX: SI), the leading provider of
radio frequency identification (RFID) reader technology, today unveiled the
most recent member of its INfinity RFID reader family, the INfinity 210
multi-protocol UHF reader module.
Designed for integration into handhelds, portable data terminals,
printers, label applicators, mobile computers and other OEM devices, Sirit's
INfinity 210 simultaneously supports multiple RFID tag protocols including
EPC Class 0, EPC writeable Class 0 / Class 0+, EPC Class 1, and EPC UHF Gen 2
(C1G2) standards. The module also supports ISO 18000-6A&B, Philips UCode,
EM 4222 family, ISO 10374 via firmware upgrade, thereby offering customers a
"future proofed" solution, protection of their investment and greater return
on investment.
The Sirit INfinity 210 features user adjustable output power up to 1 Watt
(30 dBM), thereby allowing optimal output for a wide range of applications and
performance requirements while offering an efficient power consumption
(1.2A peak) to support mobile applications and extend battery life. The
INfinity 210 is equipped with a serial interface for host communications, and
is available with either a patch antenna or an external 50 ohm MMCX
connection. The small form factor allows for easy integration into existing
designs.
"Incorporating Sirit's patent pending radio frequency technology the
INfinity 210 represents the next step in Sirit's product roadmap to deliver a
superior combination of price and performance for UHF data collection & data
management to markets worldwide," commented Mike Allocco, Vice President Sales
and Marketing, Sirit Inc. "As an embedded module the INfinity 210 will act as
an enabler for a variety of OEM devices at a cost point well below current UHF
offerings."
A large number of OEM partners have already taken shipment of INfinity
210 INsight Development Kits including major manufacturers of handhelds,
forklift mounted RFID readers, portable data terminals, printers, and label
applicators.
"Sirit worked with us to deliver RFID modules that support our multi-
protocol Falcon 5500 in challenging customer environments," said Joe Guy,
Senior Vice President of Products for PSC Inc. "By leveraging the RF expertise
and programming skills of Sirit's team, PSC was able to faster and more cost
effectively meet the performance criteria of our customers."
