(TSX: SI), a leading provider of\nradio frequency identification (RFID) technology, is pleased to introduce the\nINfinity 196, a high frequency (HF - 13.56 MHz) reader module designed to\naddress a wide array of HF applications including cashless payments, secure\ntransactions, access control, identify or product verification, and item level\ntracking in supply chain applications.\nThe INfinity 196 multi-protocol embedded RFID reader has been designed in\na compact yet powerful form factor allowing for easy integration into handheld\nportable data terminals, mobile computers, cashless payment and fixed\nterminals and other OEM devices. The 196 supports commonly used protocols\nincluding ISO 15693 and Philips I-Code while also supporting secure, encrypted\napplications using ISO 14443, MIFARE(R) Ultralight and MIFARE(R) Classic.\nThe INfinity 196 design incorporates the Philips RC632 chip facilitating\nsecure encrypted tag to reader communication used in many cashless payment and\nsecure transaction applications throughout the world. Support for multiple\nlevels of the MIFARE(R) protocol including MIFARE Ultralight and MIFARE\nClassic are native to the first release of the INfinity 196.
