In connection with this appointment,\nSirit has announced the immediate availability of the Sirit Mobile NFC\nPlatform (\"Sirit MNP\") middleware solution for mobile phone original equipment\nmanufacturers (OEMs).\n\n\nNFC technology is a short range wireless connectivity method, co-invented\nby NXP Semiconductors, that is poised to become a standard feature on mobile\nphones. NFC-enabled mobile phones are expected to drive revolutionary\napplications (e.g. secure mobile payments, ticketing, etc.), create new\nrevenue streams, and provide differentiation for mobile handsets.\n\n\nThis deal is significant because many OEMs are seeking to develop\nNFC-enabled mobile phones, but are faced with expensive and time-consuming\ndesign hurdles including middleware development, hardware engineering, and\nsoftware integration. To address these design hurdles, NXP Software has\ndeveloped J-Ware NFC - a Java-based embedded stack that provide mobile phones\nwith a rich set of NFC functionality for JME application environments. J-Ware\nNFC is quickly becoming the leading embedded Java Micro Edition (JME)\nextension for NFC technology, enabling several high-profile deployments, to\ndate.\n\n\nThe Sirit MNP is a package of Java-based embedded software stacks and\nspecifications (JSRs) (powered by NXP Software's J-Ware NFC) and integration\nlayers.
