[{"type":"text","content":"\n Caldwell Investments PLC\n08 May 2007\n\n\n\nCaldwell Investments plc ('Caldwell' or 'the Company')\nSuccessful Trial Plantation\n\n\nThe Board of Caldwell is pleased to update shareholders on the progress of its\nbiodiesel feedstock project based in Brazil, as announced on 2 February 2007.\n\nThe project has taken a further tangible step forward with the successful\ngermination from mechanically planted seed of over 1,000 Jatropha tree saplings\nat Caldwell's first trial plantation in Northern Brazil.\n\nThe purpose of the trial was to confirm that in the fertile conditions available\nin Brazil, the Company is able to cultivate Jatropha trees directly from\nmechanically planted seed without the need to invest in nursery facilities or\nbuy in more expensive saplings.\n\nThe Directors believe this successful trial confirms an important element of the\nCompany's project to cultivate Jatropha plantations in Brazil in order to\nprovide biodiesel feedstock for the European market.
