[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTinka Resources Limited (TSXv - TK; Frankfurt - TLD (WKN A0B 884);\n\n\nPinksheets - TKRFF)\n\n\nVANCOUVER, Jan. 18 /CNW/ - Mr. Andrew Carter, President, is pleased to\nannounce the results from a preliminary trenching program conducted on a\ngossanous \"clinker\" zone that was discovered approximately 100m north of the\ntrenches in the area currently being explored at Colquipucro. This new area\ncontains limonite and manganese oxides derived from what appears to have been\nmassive sulphides over widths ranging from 30m to 80m, and the zone appears to\nbe trending west-north-west/east-south-east. The high lead, zinc and silver\nvalues in this leached, gossanous material would suggest that it was\noriginally quite rich in base metal sulphides prior to oxidation.\n\n\nThe gossan lies between the upper Chimu (or Goyllar) sandstone and the\nunderlying Pucara limestone. The Company's Peruvian geological staff indicate\nthat this type of gossan is similar to the limestone-sandstone contact at the\nCerro de Pasco and Carahuacra-San Cristobal mines in the central Peruvian\nAndes where similar contact lithologies are found associated to underlying\nmassive Zn deposits. The Zn deposits at both mines are world class.\n\n\nThe area sampled was just over 160m east-west and comprises six small\ntrenches ranging from 6m to 14m in length.
