Change to Board of Directors
Alumasc Group PLC
30 August 2000
The Alumasc Group plc : Board Change
'Martin Wood is to leave the Board of Alumasc, the premier
engineering and building products group, in order to give his
full commitment to the development of Leonardo Information
Services.'
Alumasc's Interim report of 22 February 2000 referred to the
creation of a 55% owned joint venture - Leonardo Information
Services Ltd - to develop an existing building products search
engine, www.LeonardoUK.com.
Following the successful restructuring of Alumasc's building
products activities, Martin Wood, building products Chairman,
has increasingly been dedicating his time to developing the
Leonardo joint venture. Leonardo will shortly be re-launched
as a standalone business from new offices in Stafford, focused
on the provision of net services and web design to the
building industry. This will require Martin's full commitment
and, accordingly, from 31 August 2000 he will cease to hold
responsibility for Alumasc's building products activities and
will resign from the group board.
John McCall, Group Chairman, said: 'We greatly appreciate
Martin's significant role in helping to re-shape Alumasc for
the future and wish him every success in the exciting task of
leading the development of Leonardo.'
