(TSX: TFI-T), the leader in the Canadian transportation and logistics industry, today announced that its Canpar package and courier subsidiary has won a contract to supply overnight courier services to the Government of Ontario for a period of three years.\nThe contract became effective on September 1, 2010 and runs through to 2013 with two year extension options. Canpar will hire about 90 new drivers and add new vehicles to deliver approximately 16,300 shipments a day for the government, with 95% of the shipments being completed within Ontario.\n"Winning this competitive bid is a major step forward for Canpar. It not only adds about 20% to revenues, it increases the utilization of Canpar's sorting and distribution hubs and enhances the density of the company's delivery services across the province, which is a key factor in operating efficiency," said Alain Bédard, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of TransForce.
