(TSX: TCS), an industry-\nleading supply chain management software company, announced today that Milton\nCAT, one of North America's largest Caterpillar dealers, has gone live with\nTECSYS' EliteSeries(TM) Warehouse Management System for IBM iSeries to manage\nits highly automated distribution operation.\nMilton CAT operates an 80,000-square-foot distribution and service center\nin Milford, Massachusetts, supporting both customers and 12 of its own\nbranches across the northeastern United States. The warehouse solution Milton\nCAT had been relying on could no longer support the company's volume of\nbusiness, so it decided to implement a new solution that would help it improve\nboth internal and external customer service by helping it turn around parts\nand equipment quickly.\nMilton CAT needed a warehouse management system that would run on an\niSeries platform and that could integrate easily to its existing ERP, conveyor\nand put-to-light systems. The company chose EliteSeries Warehouse Management\nSystem for IBM iSeries because it met Milton CAT's functionality requirements.\nThe clincher in the choice was site visits to four TECSYS-powered operations,\nwhich demonstrated live what the TECSYS solution could do.\n\"TECSYS was able to show us in concrete terms what we would be able to\nachieve with EliteSeries, and they followed through,\" said Rodney Ford,\nDirector of Information Systems at Milton CAT. \"We implemented a number of\nautomation systems at the same time, and we needed to know that EliteSeries\nwould interface with them effectively and deliver the functionality to allow\nthem to reach their full potential. After running live on the system for five\nmonths, the solution has done just that.\"\nThe TECSYS team also customized the solution to handle an automated\ncustomer pick-up center, which is now up and running smoothly.
