Food Distributors of the Americas undertakes full-scale EliteSeries implementation

MONTREAL, June 29 /CNW Telbec/ - TECSYS Inc., a fast-growing supply chain
management solution provider, today announced that Food Distributors of the
Americas is implementing the EliteSeries integrated enterprise suite of
applications to run the distribution side of its operations. The company,
which distributes high-quality ingredients and food supplies to the baking and
restaurant industries, purchased the full suite, including the Distribution
Management System, Warehouse Management System, Transportation Management
System, E-commerce solution, and Enterprise Performance Management solution.
It will also be implementing the EliteSeries Point of Sale solution for its
retail operations.
Food Distributors of the Americas required a technology platform that
would support the company's operations well into the future, and one that
would make collaborative commerce a reality, allowing the company to work more
seamlessly with customers, vendors, and its own sales reps. A browser-based
solution was clearly the perfect strategy.
The company also required functionality that could be implemented
virtually off the shelf-that would cover all the facets of its operations
without customization, so that the solution would be easy to maintain and
upgrade. Food Distributors of the Americas quickly zeroed in on EliteSeries.
"We can implement EliteSeries essentially out of the box, and that means
that we can focus on growing our business, not maintaining and upgrading our
systems," said Mike Pinkowski, President of Food Distributors of the Americas.
"EliteSeries met our requirements so closely because the solution brings
together best-of-breed applications designed specifically for best-of-breed
distributors, particularly ones with plans for growth."
Food Distributors of the Americas will be running its 70,000-sq.-ft.
distribution facility in Buffalo, its 40,000-sq.-ft. Saratoga Springs facility
and its new 95,000-sq.-ft. St. Louis facility using EliteSeries. The
EliteSeries will be used to increase responsiveness to customers by allowing
it to generate more accurate forecasts and ensure precise inventory
management, so customers know that the company can deliver.
"EliteSeries not only delivers the functionality companies like Food
Distributors of the Americas need, it does so on a Web-based technology
platform," explained Peter Brereton, President and Co-CEO of TECSYS. "This
empowers the mobile workforce with any-time, anywhere computing and delivers a
solution that will serve our clients and their clients for years to come."
