[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, Oct. 25 /CNW/ - Teck Cominco Limited announced today that\npreliminary damage estimates have been completed at the Pogo mine site,\nfollowing the incident on October 19, 2006 in which electrical power to the\nPogo mine site was lost.\nTemporary power has been established to all major facilities, sufficient\nto permit scheduled maintenance and construction work to proceed in the mill.\nAn additional portable generator is scheduled to arrive on site by October 27,\nwhich should permit a partial restart of underground mining by October 31.\nUnderground ore production will be stockpiled on surface until mill operations\nresume. Teck Cominco continues to assess alternatives for restoration of\npower. The timing for a return to full underground operation will not be known\nuntil after October 29.\n\nTeck Cominco is a diversified mining company, headquartered in Vancouver,\nCanada.
