[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTundra Licenses Ericsson's MicroTCA Carrier Hub Switching Sub System,\n\n\nEnabled by Serial RapidIO\n\n\nOTTAWA, May 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TSX:TUN),\nthe leader in System Interconnect, today announced a collaboration with\nEricsson (NASDAQ:ERIC), the leading wireless infrastructure provider, to\nlicense the Switching Module of a MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) card, designed by\nEricsson with Tundra's Tsi578(TM) Serial RapidIO(R) Switch. The license\ngranted to Tundra includes sub-licensing rights and Tundra will be\nsub-licensing the design as the Tsi578 MicroTCA Switching Module (MSM),\nthereby broadening the availability of Serial RapidIO-based MicroTCA Systems.\n\n\nTundra announced the industry's first Serial RapidIO switch in 2005 and\nsubsequently launched the world's first RapidIO interoperability lab in 2006.\nWith today's announcement, Tundra, in collaboration with Ericsson, continues\nto build the Serial RapidIO and MicroTCA ecosystems. The Tsi578 MSM leverages\nthe industry leading features of the Tsi578 16-port Serial RapidIO Switch and\nprovides the switching functionality for a MicroTCA system.\n\n\nEricsson designed its MicroTCA carrier hub and associated backplane using\nTundra Tsi578 Serial RapidIO switches with excellent support from Tundra's\ntechnical support team. The design is used by Ericsson in ongoing development\nactivities.\n\n\n"Ericsson selected Tundra for sub-licensing the design, not only because\nwe used their Tsi578 for the card design, but also because we view Tundra as a\nkey ecosystem enabler for RapidIO technology.
