Mercury intends to manufacture and integrate the\nTsi578MSM into Mercury's MicroTCA-based Ensemble(TM) systems for WiMAX and LTE\nwireless applications, in addition to video, military imaging, and signal\nprocessing applications.\n\n\n"The Tsi578MSM provides the high-speed 10 Gbps RapidIO fabric backplane\ninterconnect and complements Mercury's Ensemble MicroTCA systems for\nnext-generation wireless applications," said Greg Tiedemann, Director of ATCA\nBusiness Development at Mercury. "Combined with Mercury's broad range of AMCs\nand enabling software, the Tsi578MSM is also ideally suited to low-latency,\nhigh-performance commercial and military data plane applications."\n\n\nIn May 2007, Tundra announced that the Company collaborated with Ericsson\nto license a MicroTCA Switching Module. The module was originally designed by\nEricsson, and subsequently licensed to Tundra to accelerate the deployment of\nSerial RapidIO-enabled MicroTCA systems.\n\n\n"This announcement is another significant milestone in the RapidIO\nmarket, as we continue to see adoption of RapidIO technology for use in WiMAX,\nand 3G LTE deployments," said Daniel Hoste, President and Chief Executive\nOfficer, Tundra Semiconductor.
