Taranis Outlines Five Exploration Targets at Kettukuusikko Gold Property, Finland

About this update from Taranis Resources Inc.

[{"type":"text","content":"\nTaranis Outlines Five Exploration Targets at Kettukuusikko Gold Property, Finland\n\n(via Thenewswire.ca)\n\n \nLakewood, Colorado, May 24, 2012 - Taranis Resources Inc.\n(\"Taranis\") [TSX.V: TRO] is pleased to announce that it has\ncompleted a comprehensive review of the Kettukuusikko Gold project\nlocated in Finland. This review utilized geophysical inversions of\nground magnetic data collected in the summer of 2011, data collected\nby the Geological Survey of Finland, and drill hole data to better\ngenerate a 3D geological model and ascertain controls on\nmineralization and new drill targets. An overview of this review can\nbe found at www.taranisresources.com\n\n\n \nThis modeling has led to the identification of five target areas\noutside of the existing Kettukuusikko South Zone (\"KSZ\")\ncontaining 90,000 Oz Au that have sufficient size and geological\ncharacteristics to make a multi-million ounce gold deposit. In\naddition to this, the modeling corroborates the presence of\n\"Parent\" gold deposit located to the north of the currently\nknown gold mineralization in target area known as the SILL Target\nwhere a northeast-trending fault cross-cuts the Sirkka Shear Zone. It\nis suspected that the KSZ and Kettukuusikko North Zone\n(\"KNZ\") are smaller displaced pieces of a much large gold\ndeposit in this area that remains undiscovered.\n\n\n \nThe inversion of the magnetic data accurately outlined the known\nmineralization in the KSZ and the KNZ, and this provides a high-level\nof confidence that the targets generated by this review have a high\nlikelihood of being gold-bearing zones. The geophysical inversions\nalso provided general information concerning the size of the\nprospective targets, and these are summarized in the table below.\n\n\n \n\n ----------------------------------------------------------------\n |Geophysical |Description of |Approximate|Size of Anomaly|\n |Target |Geophysical |Target |Relative |\n |Area Name |Target |Size (M |to KSZ |\n | | |tonnes) | |\n |--------------------------------------------------------------|\n |Kettukuusikko |Isolated magnetic |4.5 |1 X |\n |South |susceptibility | | |\n |Zone |low | | |\n | |along the | | |\n | |Sirkka Fault | | |\n | |Zone with | | |\n | |existing | | |\n | |Resource (See | | |\n | |Taranis | | |\n | |News | | |\n | |Release dated Oct | | |\n | |21, | | |\...
