[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 4439A System C Healthcare plc 08 October 2009 \n \n8 October 2009\n\n\nSystem C Healthcare PLC acquires Conscia\n\nSystem C Healthcare PLC (\"System C\"), the provider of specialist IT products and services to the health and social care sectors, today announces the acquisition of Conscia Enterprise Systems Limited (\"Conscia\") for a maximum consideration of £0.8 million.\n\nConscia, a fast growing web solutions company based in Glasgow, specialises in providing premium web applications, including e-commerce and mobile solutions, to both the private and public sectors. Conscia has a strong and long-standing focus on healthcare web portals with clients including: NHS24, NHS National Services Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland, Scottish Government Health Department, and a number of regional health boards.\n\nThe company has also recently developed a new national knowledge portal called Knowledge for Care Scotland in partnership with NHS Education for Scotland's Knowledge Services Group. \n\nSystem C's chief executive, Dr Ian Denley, said System C was delighted to be acquiring Conscia. \n\n\"We are convinced of the value of portal technology and are already developing a range of web-based portals for our health and social care clients\", he commented. \"Conscia's significant web development expertise will help us to create new products and pursue new opportunities within the UK healthcare sector.\"\n\nThe consideration for the acquisition is £0.8 million payable in cash on completion.
