[{"type":"text","content":"\n Synexus Clinical Research PLC\n10 April 2006\n\n\n\n\n\n Synexus Clinical Research plc\n (\"Synexus\" or \"the Company\")\n\n Pre-Close Trading Statement\n\n\nSynexus, the clinical trials services group, today announces the following\npre-close trading update ahead of its preliminary results for the year to 31\nMarch 2006.\n\nFurther to the four months trading results reported in its AIM admission\ndocument issued in November 2005, the Company is pleased to report that trading\nhas continued to be buoyant and that results for the year to 31 March 2006 are\ntherefore anticipated to be in line with management expectations.\n\nSince its flotation, Synexus has vigorously pursued its stated strategy of\norganic growth combined with strategic partnerships and acquisitions to expand\nits business into emerging economies. To this end, Synexus has established the\nfirst Site Management Organisation in India through a strategic alliance with\nthe Indian Clinical Research Institute. Furthermore, in January 2006, the\nCompany acquired the Polish clinical trials business Skandynawskie Centrum\nMedyczne Sp. z.o.o. (\"SCM\"). This acquisition will allow Synexus to exploit the\ngrowing opportunities for clinical trials and patient recruitment in Central and\nEastern European markets.\n\nThe Company continues to pursue a number of other opportunities to replicate its\nbusiness in new territories with particular emphasis on those within Central and\nEastern Europe and has a number of potential targets currently under review.
