PLC 18 July 2011 \n \n\n18 July 2011 \n \nSYMPHONY ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES PLC\n \nRecord Attendance at Third International Distributors' Conference \n \n \nSymphony Environmental Technologies Plc (\"Symphony\" or \"Company\"), the specialist in advanced plastics technologies including d2w controlled life and d2p anti-microbial products, is pleased to announce the success of the Company's third Distributors Conference (\"Conference\"), which was held in London last week.\n \nThe Distributors' Conference, held over three days was attended by over 40 delegates from more than 30 countries, along with specialist technical and scientific speakers from a further four countries. \n \nThe Conference featured a range of speakers covering topics such as sales and marketing strategies, finance and logistics, ongoing research and development work, recent changes to legislation and concluded with success stories and tips from some of the Company's most successful distributors around the world.\n \nThe event was held against the background of Symphony's excellent 2010 results - showing a 21 per cent rise in revenues to £8.48 million and a profit after tax of £1.19 million, itself an increase of 29 per cent over the year before. \nDelegates were much encouraged by recent developments likely to expand confidence in this form of technology. For example, the UK Environment Agency's Lifecycle Assessment, showing that oxo-biodegradable bags have a better LCA than paper or compostable plastic bags; the announcement of British Standard (BS 8472), the only standard in Europe for biodegradability of plastic litter in the environment, which Symphony played a major role in developing; the submission by the British Plastic Federation to the UK Government of a detailed scientific dossier proving the biodegradabili...
