SunOpta today announced that it has filed a shelf\nprospectus with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) covering the possible\nissue of senior debt securities, subordinated debt securities, special shares,\nwarrants to purchase common shares and common shares of SunOpta Inc., as may\nfrom time to time be issued at indeterminate prices. These securities\nregistered hereunder shall not have an aggregate price which exceeds\n$100,000,000 in U.S. dollars or the equivalent in any other currency. This\nshelf prospectus would reinstate a similar prospectus filed in 2003, which had\nexpired.\n\nAbout SunOpta Inc.\n\nSunOpta Inc. is an operator of high-growth ethical businesses, focusing\non integrated business models in the natural and organic food markets.
