[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n\n\n\n20th April 2009\n\n Gold Oil plc\n\nGold Oil Signs Letter of Intent to Acquire Seismic Data on Off Shore\n Block\n Appointment of Country Manager for Colombia\n\nGold Oil plc (\"Gold Oil\" or the \"Company\") today announced that the\ncompany has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with SCAN Geophysical ASA\n(SCAN) for its multi-purpose 3D/2D vessel M/V SCAN STIGANDI to\nacquire 2,000 km of 2D data over block Z-34 offshore northern Peru.\nMobilization to Z34 is set for late April 2009.\n\nGold also announces the appointment of Mr Carlos Gaviria as the\ncountry manager for Colombia. Mr Gaviria, a Colombian national, is a\npetroleum engineer with over 25 years of experience and has worked\nfor Exxon, Texaco and Baker International in management positions.\nIn particular Mr Gaviria has direct experience in workover and well\nrecompletion programmes.\n\nGold Oil Chairman, Mark Pritchard commented \"We are delighted to be\nworking with SCAN to acquire data on our off-shore block Z34 in\nNorthern Peru and look forward to completing the first phase of our\nlicense obligations.
