'Star\nNavigation' (TSX.V: SNA) (FSE: s3o) is pleased to announce that it has signed\na memorandum of understanding to develop and market a commercial in-flight\nmedical monitoring system.\nOnce development and commercialization is complete, a patient being\ntransported by air ambulance or traveling and falling ill on a commercial\naircraft could have vital data concerning their medical status transmitted to\nthe nearest dispatch hospital while still in flight. Physicians and emergency\npersonnel on the ground could then analyze the situation in real-time using\nthe more extensive diagnostic facilities available to them, and provide\nmedical direction and advice to flight crew or paramedics on board the\naircraft.\nThe medical monitoring system will be hosted and supported by the open\narchitecture of Star's flagship patented product, the ISMS(TM) (In-Flight\nSafety Monitoring System) which provides the platform for the transmission and\ndelivery of real time data.\nThe United Kingdom, the Government of Hong Kong, and the Commonwealth of\nAustralia have awarded the Official Grant of Letters Patent entitled, \"Systems\nand Method for Transportation Vehicle Monitoring or Analyzing\" with respect to\nthe ISMS(TM), to which Star holds the exclusive worldwide license.
