("AMS") announced yesterday that it\nhas filed a motion to dismiss the recent patent infringement lawsuit brought\nagainst it by Star Navigation Systems Group, Ltd. ("Star") in the U.S.\nDistrict Court for the Northern District of California. This reaction (from\nAMS) is fairly common and was expected.\n\n\nIn reviewing this filing and AMS' press release, Star Navigation expects\nthat AMS' procedural arguments relating to personal jurisdiction and standing\nwill be rejected by the court based on the facts surrounding the litigation.\nStar Navigation maintains that its rights to U.S. Patent No. 7,113,852 ("the\n'852 Patent") give it legal standing to assert infringement.\n\n\nStar Navigation remains confident that the courts will agree with its\nposition that AMS is infringing the '852 patent.\n\n\nAdditionally, reexamination request for AMS' U.S. Patent No. 7,203,630\nhas been resubmitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office\n("USPTO") under the direction of the USPTO.
