(TSX-V: AMA), without prejudice, in the U.S.\nDistrict Court for the Northern District of California. Under the notice, Star\ncontinues to have the option of refiling the complaint against AMS for patent\ninfringement of its U.S. Pat. No. 7,113,852 ("the '852 Patent) at a later\ndate, for example, if AMS's sales improve in the future.\n\n\nThe decision to dismiss without prejudice was based on AMS's\nrepresentations during discovery that the cost of the litigation would be\nsignificantly greater than any damages Star would receive, based on the\nlimited number of sales AMS has made since its formation. According to AMS\nitself, any damages that Star could possibly obtain in the litigation are far\noutweighed by the legal costs already incurred by the parties.\n\n\nStar will continue to monitor the in-flight data monitoring market to\nprotect its intellectual property rights under the '852 Patent. To the extent\nthat would be competitors offer infringing products, Star will protect its\nrights under the law.\n\n\nStar Navigation Systems Group Ltd.
