[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTSX Venture Exchange Symbol: SNA\n\n\nTORONTO, May 13 /CNW/ - Yesterday, the patent infringement lawsuit filed\nby Star Navigation (TSX-V: SNA) ("Star" or the "Company")) was responded to by\nAeromechanical Services' (TSX-V: AMA) in the United States District Court in\nSan Francisco, California by AMA's motion to dismiss on purely procedural\ngrounds. To date, AMS has taken considerable effort to avoid having to answer\nStar's allegation that AMS infringes the patent at issue.\n\n\nThus, the arguments included in AMA's motion were limited to assertions\nthat the California court lacks personal jurisdiction over AMA and arguments\nattacking the judicial procedures supporting the recent amendment to Star's\ncomplaint against AMA adding Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira as co-plaintiffs to\nthe lawsuit. Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira are named co-inventors of U.S. Pat.\n7113852, the patent being asserted against AMA and exclusively licensed to\nStar. Originally, the infringement suit was brought by Star only; however, the\ninventors, Messrs. Kapadia and Vieira, who had previously authorized the\nlitigation, have now been added as co-plaintiffs.\n\n\nFollowing consideration of AMA's motion, discovery and the more\nsubstantive aspects of trial may commence. "Our team was fully prepared for\nthis response from AMA," commented Mr. Kapadia, who is Chief Executive Officer\nof Star as well as an inventor of the patented technology. "We expect to move\npast the procedural tactics and are looking forward to moving forward with\nthis litigation and prevailing on the merits of our case. We will continue to\npursue our legal rights and remedies to the full extent of the law."\n\n\nAbout Star Navigation: Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd.\n(www.star-navigation.com) owns the exclusive worldwide license to its\nproprietary, patented In-flight Safety Monitoring System, the first system in\nthe world to feature in-flight data-analysis, monitoring and diagnostics with\na real-time connection between aircraft and ground.
