SPORTS INTERNET GROUP PLC 25 October 1999 SPORTS INTERNET GROUP PLC ('Sports Internet' or 'the Company') Richard James Appointed Managing Director of Planetfootball.com The Board of Sports Internet is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard James, 39, a former partner of Hammond Suddards and Pinsent Curtis, as Managing Director of Planetfootball.com Limited ('Planetfootball') with effect from 1 November 1999. Richard's appointment is an important step in the creation of a management structure appropriate to Sports Internet, a group now with three operating subsidiaries, Planetfootball, Opta Index and Surrey Group. Having qualified with Allen & Overy in 1986, Richard James has spent his career to date practising law. He became a partner of Pinsent Curtis in 1991, before moving to Hammond Suddards in 1996. As a corporate finance specialist, Richard advised Peter Wilkinson on the sale of Planet Online to Energis in 1998 and upon the subsequent purchase of Planetfootball by Sports Internet. He has advised Planetfootball since its inception. Coincidentally, he also advised the principal shareholders of Leeds United Holdings PLC on its purchase by Caspian Group plc (now Leeds Sporting) in 1996.
