[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC \n\n Chinese Air Force takes first delivery of TETRA handsets \n\nThe Directors of Software Radio Technology plc (\"SRT\" or the \"Company\") are\npleased to announce that the Chinese Air Force has taken delivery of its first\ntrial TETRA handsets in the first step of its rollout of TETRA.\n\nThe handset has been designed and manufactured by a Chinese government-owned\ncompany for supply to the Chinese military. The handset is based on SRT's core\nTETRA handset technology reference design.\n\nThe technology licence agreement between SRT and the local manufacturer\nprovides the manufacturer with the core technology, development and production\ntools and training to develop its own unique handset. The manufacturer is\ntherefore able to create its own range of handsets which are tailored to the\nform and function required by local customers. SRT receives licence and product\ndevelopment fees during the development of the customer's handset and a royalty\non every handset manufactured.\n\nSimon Tucker, SRT's Commercial Director said \"This is an important milestone\nfor both SRT and our customer and we are extremely proud. We expect this\ndelivery to mark the start of a gradual delivery programme across this target\nmarket.
