[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 4352F Software Radio Technology PLC 09 October 2008 \n \nThursday 9th October 2008 \n\nSOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC\n(\"SRT\" or the \"Company\")\n\nTETRA handset approved for use on secure Korean networks \n\n\nSRT, the AIM-listed the provider of professional digital radio communications and marine identification and tracking technology, is pleased to announce that its Korean based TETRA license customer, UNIMO, has received formal approval for the use of their radio handset on all secure networks. \n\nThe approval was granted by the Korean National Security Agency, (NRSI & NEMA) following an extensive testing and verification programme to ensure the required performance. There are now a total of only four radio manufacturers who have received this important approval, of which UNIMO is the only one offering a locally developed and produced TETRA radio. \n\nThis now adds to the list of EU Type Approvals and numerous other network IOP approvals already obtained by UNIMO providing proof to all end-users that the radio is able to perform to the highest standards even on the most complex and secure networks. It means that the radio is fully approved for sale to all Korean government agencies and is now listed on the official internal government procurement web site, therefore opening the entire Korean TETRA market to UNIMO. \n\nThe UNIMO TETRA radio has been developed especially for the Korean and Asian markets, providing a highly localised TETRA radio solution, backed up by strong local support. Today the radio is in service with a variety of users, including Hynix, who is the world's third largest semiconductor manufacturer.\n\nSimon Tucker, SRT plc Group Managing Director said; \"UNIMO and SRT have worked closely together to achieve this important milestone.
