[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC \n\n AIS Agreement Signed \n\nThe Directors of Software Radio Technology plc (\"SRT\") are pleased to announce\nthat SRT has signed L3 Communications Corporation (Aviation Recorders Division)\n(\"L3\") as a customer for its AIS technology.\n\nL3 is a US-based company that will use technology provided by SRT to create an\nAIS Aids to Navigation (\"AtoN\") product for sale through its international\ndistributor network. The AtoN product will mainly be installed on buoys and is\nan important element of the growing national AIS systems. They provide\npermanent hazard warnings to shipping and vital environment information on\ntides, temperature and wind to authorities.\n\nSRT and L3 expect the product to be one of the first into the market meeting\nall required specifications. Prototypes are expected in September 2006 with\nproduction by the end of the year. SRT will be paid an initial fee with ongoing\nroyalties on each product sold.\n\nSimon Tucker, SRT's Commercial Director said: \"Following the successful launch\nof our Class B technology earlier this year, we took the decision to invest\nfurther in our AIS business through the development of the other elements of an\nAIS system. AtoN is an important element of all AIS systems. L3 has a\nreputation as a high quality supplier of these types of products with a well\nestablished international brand and distributor base. We are therefore very\nexcited to be working with L3 in this area.\"\n\nMargaret Browning, L3 Communications (Aviation Recorders Division) Technical\nDirector said: \"L3 has worked hard to establish itself as one of the leading\nplayers in the growing US and international AIS market. The launch of an AtoN\nproduct in 2006 is consistent with our strategy of continuing to lead in this\nmarket.
