(TSX: SII) ("Sprott" or the\n "Company") today announced its preliminary estimate of\n gross Performance Fees for the year ended December 31, 2010 and its\n preliminary estimate of Assets Under Management as at December 31,\n 2010.\n\n\nOn a preliminary and unaudited basis, the Company generated in excess of\n $193 million in gross Performance Fees as at December 31, 2010. When\n combined with Crystallized Performance Fees recorded in previous\n months, gross Performance Fees for the 2010 fiscal year are estimated\n to be approximately $196 million. Gross Performance Fees are before the\n deduction of Performance Fee-related compensation, income taxes and any\n other related expenses.\n\n\nIn keeping with its established practice, the Company expects that,\n once its Annual Financial Statements have been audited and approved by\n the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors will resolve to have the\n Company pay out, by way of special dividend to its shareholders, a\n substantial portion of Performance Fees (net of related\n bonuses, expenses and taxes) earned for the year. In the interim\n period, management will seek to invest its free cash balances in\n an appropriate portfolio of interest bearing and other investments.\n\n\nT...
