[{"type":"text","content":"\n Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC\n11 June 2007\n\n\n\n\n Appointment of Chief Operating Officer\n\n\nSpirax-Sarco Engineering plc, a world leader in the industrial steam-using and\nperistaltic pumping markets, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark\nVernon (54) to the newly established position of Chief Operating Officer\nreporting to the Chief Executive, Marcus Steel, with effect from 12th June 2007.\n\nMark will be responsible for the day to day delivery of the Group's operating\nresults. As such, the operating management of the Spirax Sarco and Watson-Marlow\nBredel businesses will report to him. He will relocate to the UK as a result of\nthis appointment and will continue with his existing responsibilities.\n\nThis appointment will allow Marcus to spend more time on medium and longer term\nissues.\n\nMark joined the Group in May 2003 as President of Spirax Sarco Inc. in the USA\nand took that business forward very successfully. He then came onto the Board of\nSpirax-Sarco Engineering plc in July 2006 with responsibility for the operations\nin the Americas and for Group Marketing. Prior to joining Spirax, Mark built up\na broad experience in the valve and process control industry throughout the\nworld with Valtek and its subsequent parents, Durco and Flowserve.\n\nMarcus Steel said: 'This appointment is designed to help us to continue to\ndevelop and expand the Group's worldwide activities.
