Spectral presents data on the clinical utility of EAA(TM) at 13th Annual Critical Care for Endotoxemia conference in Japan

(TSX:SDI) today\nannounced that it presented new findings demonstrating the clinical utility of\nits EAA(TM) Endotoxin Activity Assay, the only FDA cleared diagnostic for the\nmeasurement of endotoxin, at the 13th Annual Critical Care for Endotoxemia\ncongress. The conference took place in Tokyo, Japan on February 19th and 20th,\n2009 and focused on the role of endotoxemia in sepsis. In addition to\nSpectral's presentation, data was presented from the Italian Critical Care\nNephrology Study Group showing the Toraymyxin(TM) cartridge, which removes\nendotoxin from the bloodstream, significantly improves organ function. Prof M.\nRanieri (Turin, Italy) also presented data showing significant improvement in\nkidney function in septic patients when endotoxin was removed using the\nToraymyxin cartridge. The first reported experience from India also showed\npositive results.\n\n\n"This meeting attracts critical care physicians from many parts of Asia,\nincluding Korea and India.
