[{"type":"text","content":"South Star Mining Announces Approval of the Mining License for the Santa Cruz Graphite Project \n \n \n (TheNewswire)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Toronto, ON –\n \n \n TheNewswire -\n \n \n January 6, 2021 –\n \n \n South Star Mining Corp.\n \n \n (\n \n \n ‘South Star\n \n \n ’\n \n \n or ‘the Company’\n \n \n ) (TSXV:\n \n \n STS\n \n \n )\n \n \n (OTC:STSBF)\nis pleased to announce\n \n \n the approval of trial\nmining license for a period of 3 years for the Phase 1 Pilot Plant\nOperations (5,000 tpy of concentrate) for the Santa Cruz Graphite\nProject (‘the Project’) in Bahia, Brazil.  As announced on\nOctober 5, 2020, the environmental license for Phase 1 was renewed for\na period of 4 years in October of 2020.  With the approval of the\nmining license, the Project is now fully licensed and can proceed to\nthe Phase 1 construction, commissioning and operations.\n \n \n \n \n The Company is advancing with conversations regarding\nproject financing, and as previously announced in October of 2020, the\nBrazilian Development Bank (BNB) has pre-approved C$7.5M of debt\nfinancing. BNB is currently reviewing the technical documents and\nadvancing with the Project credit analysis.\n \n \n \n \n South Star CEO Richard\nPearce\n \n \n commented: “We are extremely excited\nabout the approval of the final permitting hurdle for the Phase 1\noperations\n \n \n of the Project, and we continue the\ndrive towards 2021 production.  We are now in a position to advance\ntowards construction, and the battery metals market appears to be\nfurther improving with increasing demand for high-quality concentrate\nworldwide.
