[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 9033Z Sound Energy PLC 23 May 2019 \n\n \n23 May 2019\n \nSound Energy plc\n(\"Sound Energy\" or the \"Company\")\n \nBoard Changes\n \nSound Energy, the Moroccan focused upstream gas company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Davies as Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Company with immediate effect. \n \nSimon Davies is an experienced Chairman with a wealth of City experience, including former positions as Executive Chairman of Threadneedle Asset Management, Chairman of JP Morgan Global Growth & Income PLC and Non-Executive Director of Grainger PLC and Old Mutual Wealth Management, and previously served as Chairman of the Investment Management Association. Mr. Davies was previously the Chairman of Sound Energy's Board between 2014-2016 and a Non-Executive Director of the Company from 2005-2010. \n \nRichard Liddell, the Company's previous Independent Non-Executive Chairman, will continue as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company. Stepping down as Chairman will enable Mr. Liddell to devote additional time to his other business interests. \n \nIn addition to his appointment to the Sound Energy board of directors, Mr. Davies, aged 60, holds or has held the following directorships or partnerships in the past five years. \n \n\n\n\nCurrent\n\n\nPrevious (last five years)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n-\n\n\nSquare Mile Investment Consulting and Research Limited\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLCH Limited\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuilter PLC\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSound Energy PLC\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCranview Properties Limited\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGrainger PLC\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJPMorgan Global Growth & Income PLC\n\n\n\n \nMr. Davies is beneficially interested in or controls a total of 17,669,000 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 1.67% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. \n \nJames Parsons, Chief Executive, commented: \n \n\"I would like to thank Richard for his contribution and counsel during his tenure as Chairman, and am delighted he will remain on the board as a Non-Executive Director.
