In response, The Sallie Mae Fund, the charitable arm of Sallie Mae, today announced a $200,000 contribution to Gleaners Food of Bank of Indiana, Inc.\n\n\nThis contribution is part of a $1 million emergency aid grant The Sallie Mae Fund is providing to food banks in states home to Sallie Mae facilities and where the company’s nearly 2,000 employees live, work, and serve. Food banks in Delaware, Massachusetts, Utah, and Virginia will also receive funding from The Sallie Mae Fund.\n\n\n“As a client drove through our distribution last week, he called out ‘We know we can always count on Gleaners!’ This is only true because of our generous supporters, so many of whom have stepped up greatly during this national health emergency,” said John Elliott, President and CEO of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. “This extraordinary gift from Sallie Mae will provide 10,000 emergency food boxes for our families.
