TIE Technologies’ MobileApps, Inc. to operate Whirlwind Hosting

NEW YORK, January 12, 2010 -- TIE Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets: TTCS) today announced that their new "Whirlwind Hosting"(tm) service will be operated by MobileApps, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of TIE Technologies.

The Whirlwind Hosting division booked its first clients in the fourth quarter of 2009.  The key to Whirlwind’s strategy is a focus on expanding the client base and driving positive margins with premium priced specialty application products.

In August of 2009, TIE Technologies, Inc. acquired Mobile Apps, Inc. which owns the MobileChat iPhone application and is an approved application provider for Apple iTunes as well as the iPhone and iPod touch devices. The company looks to acquire additional specialty web hosting and application development companies in early 2010.

With a global reach of over 50 million iPhone and iPod touch users, the App Store is a priority venue for MobileApps, Inc. new product introductions and sales development. Demand for iPhone applications has soared.  In just over one year of the iTunes Applications store being launched, over 2 billion applications have been sold to over 100 million accounts.  This number is expected to double in the next 12 months.
