TIE TECHNOLOGIES COMMENT ON INTERNET CORE SERVERS ATTACK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TIE TECHNOLOGIES COMMENT ON INTERNET CORE SERVERS ATTACK NEW YORK, New York -- October 29, 2002 -- Tie Technologies (OTC PK: TIET), the U.S. provider of BNET, the new hacker and virus-free Business "Internet", had forewarned of the recent attacks on the Internet's core servers and states that it is only a matter of time until security will be at the forefront of all Internet activities. TIE Technologies VP Strategy, Chris Nichols, said he was not surprised by last week's attacks against the thirteen Internet root servers that direct all the world's Internet traffic. "It has been widely publicized over the years that such attacks can and will occur. The question was not 'if', but when," Nichols stated. "Last week's attacks are likely the thin edge of the wedge. Businesses globally need to take a hard look at their reliance on the Internet for their communications." Future attacks can and will cripple communications, exposing businesses to unprecedented losses and liability risk. "There is no cost effective and timely contingency plan that is capable of global connectivity when the Internet stops working. The world is only just beginning to see the ramifications of insecure communications and business without email, website or commercial capacity. "The only viable safeguard against attack is a totally secure network that is dedicated to business. BNET - the New Business 'Internet' - will provide this security at unprecedented levels," Nichols concluded. Utilizing existing, secure global delivery infrastructure, the Business Internet (BNET) is a newly structured and uniform network separate from - but compatible with - the existing Internet delivery infrastructure. BNET combines the world's most advanced security technologies and assures protection to levels unattainable through any Internet add-on, firewall or other type of patch solution proposed by the White House or any other cyber security body. BNET is a centralized global solution. It is inherently protected from attacks such as last week's Internet root server attacks. All users, systems, and resources are identified and the operating environment is trusted and hardened. The Internet is a great resource for information and casual communication, but is totally unsuited and inadequate for business. Apart from its major security deficiencies, it is an unregulated, disparate network. Grave flaws are exposed almost daily. Businesses are paying for an unsound network and daily risking exposure of their valuable and confidential data. About TIE Technologies TIE Technologies owns the BNET commercialization rights for the USA and is also responsible for all global BNET liaison, project management, policy and compliance, technology deployment and all licensee, joint venture, partner and affiliate relationships. About BNET BNET is supported by some of the world's leading IT and technology companies. Its operating system was developed by Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW) and is the world's only EAL4 (common criteria) security certified operating system. This base trusted platform is further enhanced through the advanced trusted systems and applications developed at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Trusted Systems Laboratories, and Plenar. Further security enhancements are provided through proprietary and patented technologies that have been, or are in the process of being, acquired and/or licensed. The BNET global business network will offer total security to its subscribers. The existing Internet is not and is unlikely to ever be secure. BNET will provide an Internet alternative to business that is secure, hacker-proof, virus free and provides protection from potential liability and/or damage actions that could arise utilizing today's Internet.
