SUGAR LAND, TX, February 28, 2015- Skye Petroleum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SKPO) is pleased to announce that Gary Merritt has joined Skye Petroleum, Inc. as its new CEO and Board Member.  Gerald Weber has retired from his daily functions as CEO, but will remain as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Skye Petroleum, Inc. until his term expires at the next Annual Meeting of Shareholders.

Gary Merritt has an extensive background in the financial industry, working with Smith Barney and Drexel Burnham, before becoming a Partner with DLR Advisors, LLC.  Merritt has also worked in Real Estate for many years and his strong financial background will be of great benefit to the Company in day to day operations.

Gary will begin developing a new management team, along with adding new Board Members.

He is taking the Board seat that was vacated by Jim Ryerson upon his death in October 2013.

Buck Eaton, Chief Operations Officer, and Brandon Rhodes, Chief Development Officer, have also stepped down from management roles to allow for a new team to be established.  Eaton will continue his daily functions for Skye Petroleum, while maintaining a seat on the Board until the next Annual Meeting.  Rhodes has resigned from the Board to pursue new opportunities and will continue working with Skye as an outside agent.

Cindy Kothmann has been invited, accepted and approved to take the Board seat vacated by Rhodes.   She currently serves as VP – Benefits, Compensation and Shared Services of Stage Stores.  Stage is a large retailer based in Houston Texas that has sales in excess of $1.5 billion annually.  Stage has 872 stores in 40 states and employs approximately 15,000 associates.  Cindy began her career with Stage in 1984 after graduating from the University of Houston with a BBA in Marketing. 

Cindy has experience in mergers and acquisitions.  Stage is a publicly traded company that brings brand name apparel to small and midtown America.
